A BIG round of thanks to the following guides and volunteers anglers:

Thanks to Curtis Lamey of Home Waters, his bro Kevin, and his client Peter Bauer who came to fish from Nevada. They all helped Tracey on Friday, August 3rd to get 20 fish tagged from Morrissey to Elko (Block A). This was her most successful float to date! Curtis also reported a tagged fish in his catch that was tagged last year on the Fernie to Morrissey stretch (Block B) on Sunday, August 5th. It was caught in the same spot where it was tagged. Importantly, this is the first official evidence I have of a fish returning to the exact same spot after overwintering and spawning.

Tracey also went out with a bunch of Sparwood folks, too, on Monday, August 6th to finish off Line Creek to Sparwood (Block E) by tagging 18 more fish. Thanks go out to Tim Chala, Sean Taylor, Daryl Kaisner, Scott Latka (and his 3-year old son Aiden), and of course, Sean's dog Rock! UBC-0120 was caught again this time, which I tagged last year. This is the second time that this fish has been caught this year.

The following list shows the tagging progress from this year:

Block A (Elko to Morrissey): 20 fish in total with no fish tagged from last year captured.

Block B (Morrissey to N. Fernie bridge): 29 fish tagged in total with 2 fish tagged from last year. Both tags fell out and fish were re-tagged.

Block C (N. Fernie bridge to Hosmer): 9 fish tagged in total with no fish tagged from last year.

Block D (Hosmer to Sparwood): 62 fish tagged in total with one fish tagged from last year. Fish was re-tagged because the tag fell out.

Block E (Sparwood to Line Creek bridge): 32 fish captured with 30 new tags administered. One tagged fish from last summer (UBC-0120) recaptured twice.

Block F (Sparwood to Michel Creek bridge): 35 new fish tagged. No previously tagged fish captured.
