Each of you is a user that will login in to this site periodically over the summer. Ideally, every time you go fishing, you will return home and login and submit your data. DATA SHEETS and MAPS of each habitat block can be downloaded from this site and printed off so you can take them with you when you go out fishing. Your data should ideally include the total number of fish caught and landed, the species, tag and/or fin mark information, approximate fork length, the gear used, location of capture, the approximate time spent angling per fish, the degree of scarring on the mouth, and anything else you think may be valuable to the study. Feel free to post blogs, too.
This site is devoted to you, the angler. It is setup to be a data base and a log of all the catch information and experiences that you will have on the Elk River this summer. My goal is for you to have an easy, user-friendly, and straightforward means of understanding this project and contributing to it. If there are any ambiguities or problems with the site, please let me know by posting your comments in a blog. I will be maintaining this website all summer in response to your concerns.
